Cavity buildup dispersion spectroscopy

چکیده
Abstract Measurements of ultrahigh-fidelity absorption spectra can help validate quantum theory, engineer ultracold chemistry, and remotely sense atmospheres. Recent achievements in cavity-enhanced spectroscopy using either frequency-based dispersion or time-based approaches have set new records for accuracy with uncertainties at the sub-per-mil level. However, laser scanning susceptibility to nonlinearities limits their ultimate performance. Here we present cavity buildup (CBDS), probing CO molecule as an example, which dispersive frequency shift a resonance is encoded cavity’s transient response phase-locked non-resonant excitation. Beating between optical frequencies during exactly localizes detuning from mode center, thus enables single-shot measurements. CBDS yield limited by chosen standard measurement duration currently 50 times less susceptible detection nonlinearity compared intensity-based methods. Moreover, significantly faster than previous The generality shows promise improving fundamental research into variety light–matter interactions.

Cavity Ringdown Laser Spectroscopy (CRDS):
Cavity Ringdown Spectroscopy has become a widely used technique in the optical absorption analysis of atoms, molecules, and optical components. The technique allows the determination of total optical losses within a closed cavity comprised of two or more mirrors, and can be made arbitrarily more sensitive by improvments in the cavity mirror reflectivity. Part of the great attraction that Cavity...

The sensitive optical detection technique of cavity ringdown spectroscopy is extended to the wavelength range 197-204 nm. A novel design narrowband Fourier-transform-limited laser is used, and the technique is applied to gas-phase extinction measurements in CO2, SF6, and O2. Further demonstration of the system capabilities is given in high-resolution recordings of the Schumann-Runge (0, 0), (1,...

The spectroscopic study of molecular ions is of great importance to a variety of fields, but is challenging as ions are typically produced in plasmas containing many orders of magnitude more neutral molecules than ions. The successful technique of velocity modulation permits discrimination between ion and neutral absorption signals and has allowed the study of scores of molecular ions in the pa...
متن کاملDispersion-relation phase spectroscopy of intracellular transport
We used quantitative phase imaging to measure the dispersion relation, i.e. decay rate vs. spatial mode, associated with mass transport in live cells. This approach applies equally well to both discrete and continuous mass distributions without the need for particle tracking. From the quadratic experimental curve specific to diffusion, we extracted the diffusion coefficient as the only fitting ...
